Life as a Radio Freelancer

Life as a Radio Freelancer

From baseball greats to high wire artist Phillipe Petit, from cat resorts to fly fishing in Montana, freelance radio producer Mary Saner has spent decades creating stories for NPR, CBS, Voice of America, and other outlets.  Whether hip-deep in trout streams or riding a motorcycle, her mic is always close to the action.

Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at the action, the challenges, and the excitement that make up the process of finding the story and producing the show.  Learn what makes a radio piece “sing” as Ms. Saner talks about her newly published book What Else You Got? Freelancing in Radio.

The talk will be followed by a book signing.  A limited number of copies of the book will be available for purchase.
